Summing it all Up
Usually when I’m writing I find that I have no problem with conclusions. In fact the concluding statement is typically my favorite element of writing. I love being able to succinctly sum up my thoughts, receiving “oohs” and “aahs” from my audience (well at least my mom). However, lately I’ve been stunted. Not in my formal writing, but on my blog. I don’t know if I feel that I haven’t fully developed whatever I’m trying to say, and thus have a problem reaching a conclusion, or if it’s more of an issue of “wow, I’m already at 253 words.” Whatever the issue at heart is, I find myself wondering how necessary are conclusions when blogging? Is there a need to sum up a 100 word blurb, or should I assume my audience is capable of doing this on their own? As a rule, I try to offer some closure to my lengthier posts, but sometimes it feels tinged with freshman writing class style, and I wonder should’ve I just left it alone? Ah, the concluding statement, the perfect phraseology even eludes me now.

I hear you.
It's so hard to end something so brief with a bang. Blogs are so tight that they deserve a tight ending, a punchline, but the joke is usually on me: I fail to get it right!
Maybe it just comes with time?
Here's to hoping!
I know what you mean, because as I post, the conclusion takes considerable thought. I almost feel like a conclusion in a blog would come naturally if it is necessary. Sometimes, the conclusion seems imperitive, as other times the reader actually will be able to wrap it up on their own.
I hear what you're saying, but for me it is the opposite. I struggle with the beginning. I attempt to start writing and that doesn't sound right and then I repeat the same thing until I come up with something half-way decent. So some advice, you need a closing and if it takes you more than one time to write it and make up your mind, most likely it will be a good ending.
